ലാലൂരിനു പറയാനുള്ളത് പറയുന്നു...
ഇത് ലാലൂരിന്‍റെ മണ്ണ്. ദുര്‍ഗന്ധത്തെ ഗര്‍ഭം ധരിക്കാന്‍ വിധിക്കപ്പെട്ട്, മാരകരോഗങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് പിറവി കൊടുക്കുന്ന മണ്ണ്. ഭരിക്കുന്ന വര്‍ക്കെന്നും വഴക്കാളി കളെ ജന്‍മം കൊടുത്ത മണ്ണ്. അപമാനങ്ങള്‍, അമര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍, തമസ്ക്ക രണങ്ങള്‍... അങ്ങനെ എന്തെല്ലാം ഏറ്റുവാങ്ങി. കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട് ഒരുപാട് തെറിവിളികള്‍. അതിനെല്ലാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടുകളുടെ പഴക്കവുമുണ്ട്. ഈ മണ്ണ് പേറിയത് ഇവിടത്തെ മക്കളുടെ വിഴുപ്പും വിസര്‍ജ്യവുമല്ല. എല്ലാം അന്യരുടേതായിരുന്നു. ഇവിടെ ഇവര്‍ വെറും ഇരുകാലി മൃഗങ്ങളായി ജീവിക്കുന്നു. ഒരിക്കല്‍ ഇവരുടെ ഉള്ളില്‍ പ്രതിഷേധം പുകഞ്ഞു. നിലനില്‍പ്പിനു വേണ്ടി, ശുദ്ധവായുവിനു വേണ്ടി, ഒരിറ്റു ശുദ്ധജലത്തിനു വേണ്ടി. ലാലൂരില്‍ ജനിച്ചു എന്ന കുറ്റത്തിന് ഒരു ജന്‍മം മുഴുവന്‍ നരകിക്കാന്‍ മനസ്സില്ലായിരുന്നു ലാലൂര്‍കാര്‍ക്ക്. അവര്‍ ശക്തമായി പ്രതിഷേധിച്ചു. പ്രതിഷേധപ്പുകയുടെ ഗന്ധം കേരളമാകെ പരന്നു. ജനാധിപത്യ രാഷ്ട്രത്തിലെ നാറിപ്പഴകിയ ഈ ധ്വംസനത്തെ അന്യനാട്ടുകാര്‍ പോലും തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞു. ജനിച്ച മണ്ണില്‍ ജീവിക്കാനുള്ള ആയിരത്തിലേറെ കുടുംബങ്ങളുടെ വീറുറ്റ പോരാട്ടങ്ങള്‍ ലോകം അറിഞ്ഞു തുടങ്ങി.
